Book Covers

I like this book a lot. I think the book cover captures the mood of the book pretty well considering that the book is about war and the figure on the front is menacing like you would expect a war to be. Their  are multiple covers to the book but like this one the best just because of the figure on the cover.

The cover of Animal Sanctuary I like how the design goes so well with the color of the cover, the gold goes well with the red. Also the animal pictures ar a good touch on the book. The typography of the book I feel goes well with the book cover as a whole. I guess what made me take a closer look at the book cover is the design on the front cover that pretty much draws me in to the rest of the cover.

The cover of Him Her Him again The End of Him I like how the design with the knife goes into the "I" in the cover and it makes the whole mystery vibe come off well. I like the image of the knife, even though it's a bit easy to go for the whole knife in a murder mystery thing but it never gets old for me. I guess what what brought me in was the color weirdly enough, its so basic but it goes well with the black type.

The cover of this Batman related book is interesting in the way that it has no words yet its still a good book cover. The picture of Batman with the black blood splatter on the cover really make s the effect of Batman come to life. I guess what drew me in was the fact that its Batman and Batman is wavy.
The cover of this book is cool because of the way they have the Mona Lisa basically the picture that everyone knows has been defaced and we can see that in the top right hand corner which brings out the scandal part.
The cover of this book is very interesting because in the title the word Life has a human being as the I which adds on to the whole you can save a life aspect that is kind of given to us from the title. What caught my eye from the cover is the basic color of the cover which rally brings out the human "i" person guy on the cover.

What I did over the break...

I spent the break preparing for my comedy set at the Magnet Theater last Saturday. It was a pain to come up with a whole routine to do in a weeks time. It in the end it turned out fun and I was able to get a call back so i can perform their again. Sense I'm 16 I can't perform their by myself so I had to bring my mom and she sat in the front row, yelling and screaming. So I had to spend the first 2 minutes of my 10 minute set explain to the audience why women in her 50 was screaming at a 16 year old boy.

Graphic Logo Project

-I would say that the most challenging aspect of creating my logo was working with illustrator. Illustrator was pretty different from Photoshop  and the pen tool got a little difficult to function at first, but eventually I got used to it. I also figuring out the live paint bucket was also really weird to figure out.
-I overcame the problem by just trying over and over to make the logo as clean as possible until it was perfect. Also I had to try and use different functions of Illustrator to get used to the program and eventually get way better at it.
-i feel like the most successful aspect of my logo design was the way the flowers in the logo ended up looking in the design. I thought it was most successful because of how the it made the text and the entire logo really go together.

My Visit to the MoMA

-This "piece of art" was in the MoMA and it was around a bunch of other pictures that I assume were made by the same person because they all looked like a 4th grader's doodles while he's pretending to take notes in class.
-The piece drew attention to me because  it clearly brings up how this person should have taken Ms.Lee's art class in 10th grade and learn how to draw a straight line. Also why color in the stick figure it looks like this guy was telling a joke in class about a black dude and he needed visuals to explain the joke. The piece reminds me of when I was younger and i didn't know how to draw or even understood the concept of art.
-I know nothing about this artist but I can assume he is 6 years old and is suffering from Parkinson's (no offense to anyone that has Parkinson's, I'm positive you could make something better).

The font in this image is script. I can tell this because the letters are connected to gather as if it was one stroke of the pencil also this type of font gives off a fancier vibe. I think that the font was well used considering that this was a sneaker box "Sacouny" just in case you were wondering and it gives that sense that your buying a high quality object.
The font in this image is decorative. We all know the Star Wars font and it looks kind of hand drawn in a way. Decorative fonts like this is best for iconic logos that just so happen to be having a movie come out next year that's gonna be soooooooo good.
The font in this image is modern. I say that is it modern because their are differences in the thickness and thinness of the lines and their also on a vertically axis. I think the font on the back of this shirt is pretty much for creative purposes, I like it and I think it fits the shirt well.
The font in this image is slab serif. The mark of each letter is made with thick strokes, and there is no transitions between think and thin in the writing. The font is I guessed use to effect here considering the product is honey so I guess a straight to the point font like slab serif would be good.
This font is a example of sans serif. The font has no serifs and their is no varying thickness in the letters. This font for the trains stations was a very good choice in my opinion. The font is very clear and easy to follow when reading which is perfect for the subways.
This font is old style. The reason this font is old style is because their is a clear transition between the thick and thin lines, and also the lines seem to be on a vertical axis. I think the choice of font here was appropriate because the its clear and easy to read also their is the fact that I found this in a  book.

My Favorite Font

     Hand Writing-Dakota
I like this font the best because I like the hand written look a lot, it seems more natural and fits me better than regular Times New Roman font.
